Clinical CPD for the whole team

Optimising hospital care for long-term patients

Cats and dogs requiring long-term hospital care present a unique challenge. Animal health and welfare is essential for a successful recovery and optimising the quality of the hospitalisation experience, from the patient-perspective, is key to promoting positive treatment outcomes. This session will explore how the veterinary nursing team can identify and best meet species-specific emotional, cognitive, and physical hospitalisation needs.

Speakers: Tamsin Durston and Laura Watson

Skin biopsy – getting the most from your samples

This session will deal with the role of biopsy in the effective management of skin disease, starting with best practice in obtaining and submitting skin biopsy samples. Case examples will be presented to help delegates understand when and why skin biopsy is useful and how to interpret the results.
